Holly Schmidt
Co-Founder & Publisher
Holly has spent her career in nonfiction book publishing, holding leadership roles at Rodale and the Quarto Group, where she launched two nonfiction imprints. In 2006, she founded Hollan Publishing, which became part of Spot Gloss Media in 2024. Holly leads the company’s creative development and oversees operations and finance. She lives in Hamilton, Massachusetts.
Bruce Lubin
Co-Founder & Publisher
In 1999, Bruce joined Barnes & Noble as Vice President and Publisher, overseeing the creation of more than 500 titles per year. In 2006, he founded Castle Point Publishing, where he has published over 700 books with various industry partners. Bruce leads our partnerships, sales, and business development. Bruce is also the co-author of the Who Knew? series of books, which have sold more than 5 million copies worldwide via HSN. He lives in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Monica Sweeney
Editorial Director
Monica leads the Spot Gloss Media editorial department, overseeing development, production, and market positioning of the company’s books. She has been with the company since 2011, playing a key role in the conceptualization and development of some of the group’s most notable creative endeavors. Monica is location-independent and travels worldwide.
Katie Jennings Campbell
Creative Director
Katie has worked in publishing for more than 20 years, art directing and designing hundreds of books for a number of publishers including Chronicle Books, HarperCollins, Random House, Macmillan, Galison, and Gibbs Smith. She leads the Spot Gloss Media design department, overseeing the creative development, design, and production of the company’s books. Katie lives in Asheville, North Carolina.
Aimee Chase
Senior Editor
Aimee got her start in the copyediting department of Little, Brown and Company and became an editor at Quarto before joining the company in 2006. She develops and edits children’s fiction and adult nonfiction titles, including humor, self-help, sports, drawing, and puzzle books. She lives in Reading, Massachusetts.
Joanna Williams
Senior Designer
Joanna has been working in publishing for over 20 years. She started her career at Rodale, and was a freelance designer working with many different publishers before joining the company in 2018. She designs everything from cookbooks and coloring books to journals and gift books. She lives in Easton, Pennsylvania.
Melissa Gerber
Senior Designer
Melissa has been in publishing since 2004, working for companies including the Penguin Group, Running Press, and Barnes & Noble. She has designed packaged books for The Quarto Group, Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, and Cider Mill Press. She joined Spot Gloss Media in 2019 and designs a wide range of nonfiction titles. She lives in Wilmington, Delaware.
Jennifer Leight
Editor
Jennifer spent 20 years in creative and client-facing roles at Rodale before joining the company in 2017. Jennifer focuses on health, food, spirituality, self-help, and home and gardening titles. She lives in Ivyland, Pennsylvania.
Jennifer Calvert
Editor
Jennifer has worked in nonfiction publishing for 20 years and has been with the company since 2017, first as an author, then as an editor, focusing on home and lifestyle, new spirituality, and humor books. She lives in Mays Landing, New Jersey.
Noora Cox
Designer
Noora joined the company in 2021, and designs our journals, coloring and drawing books, as well as sticker, activity, and trivia books. She lives in Asheville, North Carolina.
Marisa Bartlett
Assistant
Marisa has worked for the company since 2013. Marisa assists with invoicing, author communication, research, and day-to-day needs.
